Stephanie Hansen

Visiting Member (HDTD)

Hello! My name is Stephanie Hansen, and I’m thrilled to be joining HDTD alongside my sweet dog, Mollea (Molly). We’re both excited to give back to our community and bring joy to those who need it most.

Dogs have always held a special place in my heart. I’m a natural caregiver who loves helping others in any way I can, and I’ve long dreamed of working with a therapy dog. Growing up, my father spent a lot of time in the hospital, especially during his cancer treatments. One of the brightest parts of his day was when the therapy dogs came to visit—they brought him so much comfort. I knew that one day, when the time was right, I wanted to help provide that same happiness and healing to others.

I come from a background in the medical field, having worked in two major hospitals in Albuquerque. I also served as a Human Resources Director in the hotel industry and, most recently, spent six years working with Albuquerque Public Schools in both their bilingual program and with students who have behavioral needs.

Outside of work, I love spending time with my husband, son, and our extended family. We enjoy traveling, kayaking, fishing, being outdoors, listening to music, and going for long walks. And of course, I especially love spending time with our two German Shepherds—Mollea and Storm.

Mollea (Molly) is a 3-year-old German Shepherd mix, adopted from East Mountain Pet Rescue when she was just eight weeks old. From the beginning, she’s had a calm, loving personality—with just the right amount of sass to keep us all smiling! Her name has a unique spelling that my son chose based on one of his interests, making it even more special.

She’s truly a gentle soul who seems to sense when someone is feeling down or unwell—she’ll quietly stay by their side, offering cuddles and comfort. Mollea has brought so much love into our lives, and we’ve always felt she was meant to be a therapy dog. She loves meeting new people, going for walks, playing tug-of-war, napping, listening to music, and taking car rides and road trips.

We feel incredibly blessed to have her as part of our family, and we’re so grateful for the opportunity to share her beautiful spirit through HDTD. We’re honored to be a part of this wonderful community.
